When in doubt, I’ve relied on Caninclude to check which HTML elements can be included inside each other, because navigating the HTML spec felt daunting. But today I stumbled upon Olivia Coumans’s article, “How to use the HTML specification to write better HTML”, and it does exactly what it says on the tin.
